Topic tiles
The start-anywhere band. Quiet builds picture tiles from the public tags on one page, using each tag's own name, description, image and post count.
A band that gives a first-time reader somewhere to start: four picture tiles, one per subject, each with a short line and a post count.
It is the one band built from something you probably already have. The tiles are the public tags on the page itself, and each tile's picture, name and description come from that tag's own settings.
Create it
#home-hubFirst, dress your tags. Go to Settings → Tags, open a tag, and give it a Description and a Tag image. Repeat for each subject you want as a tile.
Go to Pages → New page and give it a title, for example Start anywhere.
Under Tags, add #home-hub and the public tags you want in the band, in the order you want them.
Publish.

What each field becomes

Four tiles, then a row of links
The first four public tags on the page become picture tiles. Any beyond the fourth line up underneath as a More topics row of plain links, so a page with nine tags shows four tiles and five links.
That split is the design's, not yours to change, and it is why tag order on the page matters: drag your four most important subjects to the front.
Internal tags do not count
#home-hub is invisible to readers and does not take a tile, so a page tagged #home-hub, Craft, Reading, Attention, Workshops gives you exactly four tiles.
Hiding the post counts
Add this tag to the same page:
#hide-hub-countsUseful on a young site where the honest answer is "2 posts", and on a site where the counts are simply not the point.
On a phone
Below 640 pixels the tiles become a row you swipe sideways, with the scrollbar hidden. A reader moving through the page with the keyboard gets each half-visible tile scrolled into view as they reach it.
The band needs at least one public tag
With no public tags on the page, the band renders nothing at all: no heading, no empty row. Add a tag, or unpublish the page.
