Brand
Set your accent colour, logo, icon and fonts in Ghost's own Brand settings, and see exactly where Quiet uses each one.
Brand is Ghost's own settings panel rather than the theme's, so these four values move with you if you ever change themes. Quiet reads all of them.
Find them at Settings → Design & branding → Customize → Brand.

Accent colour
One colour, used sparingly. In Quiet it fills the Subscribe buttons and the signup band, colours the links inside your articles, tints the small uppercase labels above each homepage band, colours list bullets and numbers, and marks the current item in your menu.
Go to Settings → Design & branding → Customize → Brand.
Click the Accent colour swatch and pick a colour, or paste a hex value.
Save. Reload your site to see it.
Light and dark are both handled
Quiet works out a readable version of your accent for text on its own, separately for light and dark mode, so a very pale or very dark brand colour still reads as text rather than disappearing into the page. You do not have to pick two colours, and you cannot pick a colour that breaks the contrast.
Quiet's own default, if you never set one, is a deep gold (#806412).
Publication logo
Your logo sits at the top left of every page and again in the footer.
In the Brand panel, click Upload logo.
Upload a transparent PNG or an SVG. Quiet caps the height rather than the width, so a wide wordmark and a small square mark both sit correctly.
Save.
With no logo, Quiet sets your publication title in its serif heading font instead, which is a deliberate design rather than a fallback. A long title truncates rather than pushing the menu off the screen.
A second logo for dark mode
If your logo needs to change colour in dark mode, upload a second one under Dark Mode Logo. That setting only works alongside this one: a dark logo with no publication logo shows nothing at all.
Publication icon
The small square image that becomes your browser tab icon, and the icon on the door of a private site.
In the Brand panel, click Upload icon.
Use a square image, at least 512 by 512 pixels.
Save.
Publication cover
Quiet never prints your cover image as a banner. Ghost still uses it as the fallback picture when someone shares your homepage on social media, so it is worth setting, and worth treating as a social image rather than a header.
Fonts
Quiet ships with two typefaces and loads them from your own site, so no fonts are fetched from anywhere else:
- Newsreader, a serif, for headings and article text.
- Manrope, a sans, for interface text: menus, labels, buttons, meta lines.
Go to Settings → Design & branding → Customize → Brand.
Pick a Heading font or Body font from Ghost's list if you want something different.
Save. Your choice replaces Quiet's for that role across the whole site.
A note on font choices
Fonts you pick in Ghost's Brand panel are served from Ghost's own font library, not from Quiet, so switching adds a request the bundled pair does not make. Leaving both fields empty keeps Newsreader and Manrope.
