Compatibility
Find out which Enova theme version works with your Ghost installation.
Using Ghost(Pro) or managed hosting?
If you use Ghost(Pro) or another managed Ghost hosting provider (such as MagicPages, Midnight, DigitalPress, Synaps Media, Gloat, etc.), your Ghost version is always kept up to date automatically. You can safely install the latest Enova version without worrying about compatibility.
Version compatibility table
Use the table below to find the correct Enova theme version for your Ghost installation.
| Theme Version | Required Ghost Version | Status |
|---|---|---|
| v1.6.0 and later | v6.27.0 or later | ✅ Supported (latest) |
| v1.2.0 – v1.5.1 | v6.27.0 or later | ⚠️ Maintenance only |
| v1.1.5 | v5.x | 🛑 End of life (legacy) |
Always use the latest theme version. Newer versions include important fixes, performance improvements, and feature enhancements.
Ghost v5.x is no longer supported
Starting with Enova v1.6.0, the theme will refuse to activate on Ghost v5.x — Ghost itself blocks installation. Earlier versions (v1.2.0 – v1.5.1) silently allowed installation on Ghost v5.x but the native share button never worked. If you're still on Ghost v5.x, upgrade your Ghost installation before moving to the latest Enova. The legacy Enova v1.1.5 build remains downloadable for Ghost v5.x installs but is unmaintained and will not receive fixes, security updates, or new features.
How to check your Ghost version
Not sure which Ghost version you're running? Follow these steps:
Log in to your Ghost Admin panel (typically at your-site.com/ghost).
Click on the gear icon (⚙️) at the bottom of the left sidebar to open Settings.
Scroll down to the very bottom of the settings page and look for the About section. Your Ghost version number is displayed there (e.g., Ghost v6.27.0).
