Compatibility

Enova runs on Ghost 6.x (v6.0.0+); v6.27.0+ adds the native share button. Check your Ghost version and what to do if you're still on v5.x.

Using Ghost(Pro) or managed hosting?

If you use Ghost(Pro) or another managed Ghost hosting provider (such as MagicPages, Midnight, DigitalPress, Synaps Media, Gloat, etc.), your Ghost version is always kept up to date automatically. You can safely install the latest Enova version without worrying about compatibility.

Ghost version requirement

Enova requires Ghost 6.x (v6.0.0 or later). We recommend Ghost v6.27.0 or later — that's the version where Ghost introduced the native share button Enova uses on posts; on older 6.x versions everything else works, but the share icon does nothing. Only the latest version of Enova is distributed, so there's no version to choose — keep your Ghost installation up to date and always install the newest Enova.

Ghost v5.x is no longer supported

Ghost itself blocks installation of Enova on Ghost v5.x, and there is no longer an Enova build for Ghost v5.x — the legacy v1.1.5 download has been retired. If you're still on Ghost v5.x, upgrade your Ghost installation to Ghost 6.x (ideally v6.27.0 or later) before installing Enova.

How to check your Ghost version

Not sure which Ghost version you're running? Follow these steps:

Log in to your Ghost Admin panel (typically at your-site.com/ghost).

Click on the gear icon (⚙️) at the bottom of the left sidebar to open Settings.

Scroll down to the very bottom of the settings page and look for the About section. Your Ghost version number is displayed there (e.g., Ghost v6.27.0).
